LaRussa appeared in only 132 MLB games over 6 seasons; this card, his "2nd year card" was actually pressed 4 years after his 1964 Rookie issue, because he played so little that Topps saw no reason to issue a card for him from 1965-1967.
LaRussa, however, made his name as a Hall of Fame manager. He guided the White Sox to the 1982 psotseason, then guided both the Oakland A's and St. Louis Cardinals to World Series championships, capturing 11 division titles and 6 pennants between them. His 2728 managerial wins are the 3rd most all-time, and Tony was inducted into Cooperstown in 2014.
