Description

The listing, Palm Pilots - Problem Lot! has ended.

Three old Palm Pilots... Two just plain broken and a problematic third.

1. M105 - This one appears to work; I can use the applications and input data via graffiti, but things aren't right.

It took about two minutes to run through the screen calibration, which I remember taking about 3 seconds. It comes up with a "hit the dot" series, but instead of the usual three dots, it took a lot more. Afterwards, things functioned but I had to press really hard and would have trouble hitting buttons on the screen. (I compensated by hitting toward one side of a button rather than in the center and things worked better.)

I don't have the Palm issued front flap but a quality padded case which zips shut. (I got the case after I dropped and ruined the M100...)

2. M100 - Busted screen. Stylus and screen protector included.

3. Palm IIIxe - Does not power up with fresh batteries. Looks like gook under the screen... assuming liquid damage. Can't find the stylus.

Extras - I'm including a serial sync cable.

I did not get a chance to try syncing any of them since I don't have a machine with a serial port laying around. I've not used any of these in quite some time - like 2001. I imagine that they are only useful for scavenging parts or possibly hardware hacking.

Do they come with the manuals & did you see if they're fixable?

I don't have any manuals and I seriously doubt that there are fixable, given their age.

I've noticed that you can You can often find decent, working Palms on listia recently; if you want a good working model I'd suggest keeping checking.

These units are probably only for anyone needing to scavenge parts or perhaps doing some hacking... Last I checked, the m105 did not support uClinux, so it has even more limited prospects as an embedded environment.
