This is a very bright spotlight that plugs into any 12v adapter. At 3 million candlepower, can illuminate an object a ridiculous distance away from you. Also lightweight and not a pain to hold for long periods, or you can flip out a stand at the top of it so you can keep it shining hands-free.

***IMPORTANT: The flood/wide-beam trigger does not function anymore. It seems that it could be fixed by somebody with a little mechanical know-how. I would just end up breaking the thing. It still functions as a very bright, high-quality spotlight.

is there a battery inside of it that charges off the car adapter or does it only worked if plugged in?

It does hold a charge after you have it plugged in the car adapter for a while. Not sure how strong the battery is/how much charge it holds these days. It's about 3 years old and haven't actively used it in about 2 years since I don't live out in the middle of nowhere anymore and can't really use it.
