New England Aster Aster Novae Angliae is beautiful, easy to grow prairie plant prized for its flower masses with bright yellow centers to pink to purple. the flowers are 1 to 2 inches in diameter. is a wild flower that has bunches of white, rose, violet or purple flowers from August to September. wild New England Aster \ hills of pink to royal purple of flowers are very attractive for butterflies-especially monarchs.
plants work well on the bottom of the garden fall or it can be compressed back several times until the summer solstice for a stronger, more compact form. he prefers medium to damp and sun-filled soil. Does well on soil that is slightly moist throughout the growing period but not soggy during the winter. Seeds germinate without prior treatment. Grows quickly and is great for borders, native plant gardens, cottage gardens or butterfly gardens.
