Another antique store find! (I simply can NOT stay out of them!)

This is a solid sterling silver set. The chain is 18" long and marked 925 with a makers mark that says SU inside an oval. Sorry, but I don't know anything about the maker.

The pendant is an open heart and has 19 "stones" set into it. The bail matches it and has a little protruding thing at the bottom on the back side to keep the bail from flipping over backwards. I've seen that feature before on vintage pendants but jewelry makers today don't usually bother with it. The back is clearly marked 925 with the same SU makers mark. It measures almost an inch wide and about an inch and a quarter long including the bail.

The matching earings are post style for pierced ears, each has 11 stones, and both are marked 925 with the SU mark.

I do not know what the stones are. They are fauceted with many sides that catch and reflect the light even in it's tarnished condition. I doubt they are anything valuable since I don't see any prongs. The stones are dark and look like hematite but again, I really don't know. The store clerk didn't know either.

As you can see...it VERY tarnished. There are many years worth of blue black tarnish on all the pieces. I cleaned a small spot and it's got a beautiful finish under there. I would have cleaned the entire thing but I'm out of polish and was lucky to get a tiny dab out to test with. The good news is that it came right off so the new owner shouldn't have much trouble removing the tarnish. A professional jeweler could do it for very little cost.

It came on a box insert that says STERLING SILVER but the actual box is missing. I will do my best to find a box for it and at the very least it will be well protected in some kind of container during shipping so that it doesn't get crushed.
