The listing, TWO $5 "SMALL PORTRAIT" LINCOLN BILLS (1985 & 1995 SERIES) has ended.
Considering that these were both recently pulled from circulation, and crisp, though worn and with their old man wrinkles, (and fairly flat since I have kept them under 1/8" heavy glass for display), these Abes have held up pretty well!
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing says the average life of a $5 bill in circulation is 16 months before it is replaced due to wear, yet these have been in the public domain for 27 and 17 years, respectively.
Ironic that they would fit in as "collectibles" already, but the numerous counterfeiting measures introduced and changes of appearance (including the "large portrait"), as well as the aforementioned short-term life of the bills, this currency is difficult to find simply because the US Treasury would have tried to remove it from circulation and replace it with newer bills.
Get your Christmas shopping done now! Only 250 days left until then, and low GIN on these "fins"!
THANKS EVERYBODY WHO HELP TO MAKE THIS SUCH A GREAT PLACE!!!
