I don't know what washed means, unless you mean with soap and water, i won this a couple of months ago hear on Listia and already had that year in mint set, I don't know if it has had anything done to it. Good Luck!!!!!!!

is the reeded edge silver in color - or sandwiched silver/copper/silver?

not silver, i think the last silver one was 1964

See the 4 spots on the coin at 12, 3, 6 , & 9 o'clock that looks like welds or solder? That's the remains of a mount where this coin was once in a necklace pendant mount or maybe a belt buckle. It was probably coated to protect the coin from excessive wear, possibly chrome plated... I have a belt buckle with on of these in it, but a different year...
