This is a vintage 1964 dated Mattel brand Looney Tunes hand puppet of "Porky Pig". Porky has a soft plastic head with molded-on cap and cloth body with felt trim. The original tag is still attached which has the 1964 date on it. The body is a striped cotton fabric with an inner front white cotton lining. There are snaps inside it for something, though I'm not sure for what? You put fingers into the head cavity and into both arms to make Porky move and "talk". He is in pretty good condition for his age except that apparently maybe some teenaged students wrote in pen on his head, as shown. I have not tried to clean Porky in any way, but I have had luck in the past on dolls of mine of similar soft plastic with using a zit cream like Clearasil (or anything with benzoyl peroxide) to slowly remove ink marks like this. You just apply the cream to the inked areas, let it sit for a few days, wipe it off, then repeat until it is faded enough. Or, you might just leave him as-is since the writing is on the back of the head. With the collar upturned, it does cover some of it. Porky has been stored in my smoke-free home for years, and I believe I acquired him at an estate auction. Maybe someone will enjoy him! Thanks for looking, and please notice US shipping is FREE!
