I think it takes AA but not sure,no batteries don't come with it.. I'l ask my husband when he get home in the morning from work to find out for sure on what kind of Batteries..

The sealed bag that they are in is too dark for me to read anything through it.. He had one like it and it was AA so I say this one is too.. If GIN is used I will throw in the AA to go with it..
