The listing, Lucky Coin from Kyoto, Japan has ended.
This is a pre-owned lucky coin from Kyoto, Japan. I believe the metal used is nickel copper alloy, the same as the 5 yen coin in Japan, although this coin feels much thicker, and heavier. It is tied to a thick red and white string. The coin is slightly smaller than a 1" diameter. It is approximately 3.5" long including the string. It reads "Fuku-Zeni" on the front, which literally means "Lucky Money", and in the back, there is the name of a temple in Kyoto called "Sanzen-in", where this coin was most likely purchased. Also, the characters "Monzeki" follow "Sanzen-in", which meant that the head priest of the temple had always been a member of the imperial family or of the nobility.
