Thanks for the Facebook link..Sad thing is it is not only puppy mills that keep pet stores supplied, but ferrets (Marshall Farms) I had more than 5 rescues for awhile, Chinchillas, the breeders sell the "lower quality" ( not show quality) to pet stores..I now have 2 rescues..I won't get on my soapbox. ADOPT don't shop. LOVE the earrings too!!!
In 1991, I got a Chinchilla from a pet store and I loved her sooooo much, but she had genetic defects and died at the age of two. I was just gutted. My Chinchilla book mentioned clipping their nails, but she didn't have any. She was small and very sweet and loved the double-decker cage my beau made her. I put a wheel in it, which the book never mentioned, and she LOVED it! I spent all my savings trying to save her and the wonderful women who were her vets, fell in love with her too. They used to carry her around in their pockets. Even when she was in pain, when they opened her cage, she'd walk into their hands. That's when they started carrying her around...to make sure she always had he pain shots in time. When she died, I let them do a necropsy, so they could learn and hopefully help another Chinchilla some day. I cried for weeks and was so angry. She was an impulse buy and the best I'd ever made. These mills suck!
I have quite a bit of vintage jewelry and will put it up when I can. Going on over 30 hours of no sleep right now, so I may not be at my best in descriptions! and probably point the camera the wrong direction! BOLO! My husband and I go antiquing a lot in the summer, so I'm bound to purchase a few lots. (Is that an oxymoron?) Sorry, way too tired and haven't a clue what I'm typing! LOL
