Description
The listing, Antique Native American Brooch? has ended.
I am offering a very old antique brooch which appears to be Native American origin. Beautifully crafted. I think it may be silver plated copper - not sure - it is unmarked and unsigned. But the piece speaks for itself. I've had it for over 20 years and purchased it at a thrift shop years ago, so I do not know it's origin. I was attracted to its simple beauty. Hope this goes to a very special bidder that appreciates its antiquity.
Questions & Comments
thanks for posting such an interesting item! Fanned
It measures 21/4" long and 1.5" high. Thank you for asking. I put a quarter next to the 3rd picture to give it some scale that you might get an idea of the size. Thanks again!
love this...but that is a dime lol just sayin'! watching this..I agree, from the way the back is done, I would say I would say silver over copper, but am not aware of any NA's doing that kind of work..sure could be wrong tho..I too love it for it's simple beauty..does it stick to a magnet?
I'm not sure if it sticks to a magnet - hold on let me find out ---- No, it does not. Looks like silver plated copper - definitely. I love the design. I'm almost having second thoughts - but a commitment is a commitment. I wish I knew who made this awesome piece, it really is unique. I'm going to look up the symbols and see if I can come up with something... if anyone else out there recognizes the type of artwork please let us know. :o)
