The listing, CURT SCHILLING rookie! MIKE GREENWELL "Tiffany" rookie! TOM GORDON rookie! Red Sox fans! has ended.

In this lot:
1989 Donruss CURT SCHILLING RC! (Orioles)
Schilling rookies command a premium for a bunch of reasons. #1, no one expected much of him (including the Orioles, who traded him to the Astros), so lots of these went into trash cans early in his career. #2, most sets excluded Schilling in 1989. And #3 ... Schilling became an ace, pitching in the World Series in Arizona before coming to Boston, where he became the posterboy for grit, leading the BoSox to their first World Series championship in 86 years. No one will ever forget watching him bleed from an ankle injury throught the WS ... ironic that a blood red sock was what the Red Sox needed to break the curse. One of the best WS stories ever ... and potentially good enough to get him over the hump and into the Hall of Fame.

1987 Topps Tiffany MIKE GREENWELL RC!
During the 1980s, Greenwell was a superstar for the Sox. He was a two time all-star, won a Silver Slugger, and batted .303 for his career despite having the dubious chore of following the succession of Hall-of-Famers Ted Williams, Yaz, and Jim Rice in Boston's left field slot ... not an easy task.
Topps Tiffany were short-printed and released in set-only form. They have glossy fronts and white backs. If you're lucky enough to find some, they're worth 6 times what the regular cards are, making Tiffany rookies more desireable than pretty much anything that came out during the 1980s.

1989 Donruss TOM "Flash" GORDON RC (Royals)
Flash only played 4 years in Boston, but was a big star in Boston. How big? Big enough that Red Sox fan Stephen King made him the imaginary friend of the main character in his book "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon". How much more legendary are you going to get?

If you made it this far in my rambling, thank you.

Happy bidding, and good luck!
