Something fishy is going on with this. I bid, then I saw someone else outbidded me. When I placed a higher bid, it kept telling me "you've been outbid" and the bids kept going up. Is someone hacking?
it will not tell you what is the maximum amount they bid, only they know it :) I suggest you ask a moderator about how auctions work on Listia, maybe they can explain it better than I can.
It tells you the amount they currently have dbid... for instance, I just bid 555 credits, and it took my bid at 404, because BLLeo had bid 400. but it holds the 555 out of my avialable credits, and if someone comes along and bids 450, suddenly I will have bid 451, without my even having to be here. But if somone bids 556, I get outbid. does that make sense now?
There is nothing fishy in Denmark (pun intended) :) the way an auction works on Listia is that you set a maximum amount of credits you'd like to bid on an item, same as with ebay. If somebody bids less than that amount it automatically outbids them on behalf of the person who set aside more credits than you did. In the case of of this auction, maybe somebody has a max amount of 500 credits, so you'll be outbid each time.
