yes, it is .925, which is Sterling. I wore this until my last birthday, when my dad gave me a ruby ring that he promised to me as a little girl.

It is a real garnet. That I am sure of. I have a friend who is a gemologist. What I am now not sure of is whether the band is real silver- my husband was looking at it last night, and couldn't find a stamp on it. So I'm going to say I was told it was silver- but I could have been taken for a ride. It still is a very nice ring.
