Seems like this would take a lot more juice. More power hungry USB products could quite possibly not work on this. Only so much power can be transmitted at a time. This is for good reason.

I have to say I am not real sure. I know it has to be plugged in to an electrical outlet which is why I really do not use it with my laptop.

Since it has to be plugged in that problem should be a very minor inconvenience. Because it would be taking power from the outlet. Because of this reason my initial comment is null and void.
