Uh oh, BOTH of us have been on bead-buying binges. I really need to stop ... now that I've gotten rid of so many of the beads I never used, I'm just loading up again!

I know! Now I've got a bunch of glass beads (and more coming) and I do NOT have a box of any sort for all of these beads. But I'm not ordering anything else, at all. I might get another thing or 2, or 3 from here, but nothing else from eBay until after August. My will power is strong, thank goodness.

So cool! A real Harley ... that's a nice bike, I'm sure! I don't know anything about them, though!

It's a real sweetheart for it's age. I wouldn't have it if it wasn't for one of the Aussies. He made it possible for me to get it. My Kawasaki didn't survive a winter 5 years ago and I didn't know how I was going to get another bike, or a good one anyhow, and he made it possible for me.

Mechanic-wise I'm useless with them and I hate that. My brothers and ex were the ones who did all of that. Now give me an old car and I can do my own tune-up and diagnose almost any engine problems. Before my dad died he asked me how long I intended to keep riding. I told him until I couldn't throw my leg over the darned thing. But then I got to thinking, there's always a trike :)

Now, that's a beautiful hobby ... wow, makes me tear up just to think about it. Does that church group still do that? I would think families of service members would LOVE to have a big bunch of fabulous bikes surrounding their funeral and giving their loved one such a fabulous sendoff. Wow ... really heartwarming Morgan ... you ought to use a photo of you with your bike, really play this up. Your bidders would LOVE that story!

I'll send you an email with a little info on this "Church" group. I hate even mentioning them and giving them any notice. They're contemptible.

Thanks Morgan! I hope these beads take off for you ...if you have more to list you might want to wait until I don't have so many listed, might be kinda running out of credits among the interested buyers. I'm holding off on listing more, but will have a few more lots ending weekend after next.

Just keep the emails for later reference :) and you're welcome. I am waiting on the other beads for that reason and so I can list a couple of other things. I'll probably hold off for a while. And then no one will want them, lol.

I'm going to list a few more of the Pandora earrings tonight, but I also got online and ordered a bunch of those stardust silver beads in different sizes, and I'll get those on Listia, but it will probably take me about a month ... shipping from Hong Kong is really slow. So, other folks will have the same beads if they want to make their own matching earrings, or earrings to sell on Listia. I'm going to try to come up with an alternate design for them too. With the large holes it's kind of challenging.

ROTFL Get out of my head! I've got the stardust that'll fit the pandora type bracelets coming. I'd like to have other sizes, but they'll have to wait. I need beads that'll fit the earrings though.

Yeah, well Walmart is a marketing powerhouse, that's for sure. They've got everyone convinced that you can get everything cheaper at Walmart. I really dislike the big warehouse types of stores, don't belong to Costco or Sams or any of those, because it's just a huge temptation to overspend when you go into them. I also like buying at small hardware stores when I can. Their prices are usually pretty much the same as the big ones.

My mother is scary in Sam's. I have enough laundry soap, paper towels, paper plates and toilet paper to last until 2035. And I just asked her to pick me up some envelopes!

If you head back to Colorado in another year, the economy might be better, more jobs and stuff. I get the impression it's kind of tough there lately. I think things will be picking up all over the country in another year, maybe you'll have other choices. Do you have any family you could stay with for a few months until you get a job, etc?
Jun 17th, 2010 at 4:25:12 PM PDT by
Original
LOL, most of them already live together. My mother and aunt, her son, and 2 of his kids share a house, lolol. I'd end up losing what few marbles I have left in that.

I think you're right though and it'll pick up in the future. I'm content to wait another year or so. It'll be better for me then anyhow, and the future might have more to offer then anyhow :)

In Salisbury, at our summer house, a Walmart grocery came in and took out two big supermarkets, so that's the only supermarket on the north end of the city. I shopped there once but it is so darned crowded I hate it, and I'm not sure it's any less expensive than the one or two other markets left in the city. It's a small city, but I couldn't believe two big supermarket chains left the city!

This Walmart has done an incredible amount of damage to this small town. So many of the little family owned businesses are struggling to stay open. I shop at them when I can, but sometimes I just can't afford to for certain items and I hate that. But I won't use Walmart's pharmacy or optical center and I wish others wouldn't because they're damaging hometown businesses. There's 4-5 town pharmacies to choose from and at least as many optical places if not more. And it can't be because of prices or insurance because many of the places in town can match it, and I know from checking. I think people use it for convenience. We've become a lazy society.

Oh yeah SURE you won't order anything else! What you really need is these round containers like I have, but if you buy them, look for the ones with the SCREW on tops. I have a bunch of the non-screw ons, which work fine, that are empty that I've thought about putting on Lisita, but I'm concerned I'll need them in the future. I have them in two sizes ... all the photos I take of the beads in the clear containers, those are the lids for them.
Jun 18th, 2010 at 6:10:24 AM PDT by
Original
I just looked at the lids, but I can't really tell what the container might look like. I'll look at some storage containers and see if I can match it up. I'm thinking I need something big enough to hold a lot of beads but will stack so as to not take up a huge amount of room. I've got 7 of those containers with the compartments full of beads, charms, and whatnots, and then a 30 drawer of what looks like a hardware storage full of findings and stuff. And then there's the small Rubbermaid tote full of bags and a couple of more containers and I'm out of room and reallllly need some more space because there's no place for my seed bead tubes. And when I get wire... LOL, the Pandora beads fit really great in an old 30 day large pill box. You can separate the colors that way. So I'll betcha I can hold off buying anything for a while (i'm not going to count Listia). I haven't even got any of the glass beads yet and have to find a place to house them.

Well, if you win anything from me I'll pop a couple of those containers in with your win so you can see what I'm talking about. I just like the screw-on ones better because the tops can't come loose and spill everything. I bought them on ebay originally, I imagine you can still get them there. Or possibly from jewelry display catalogs online.

If you do that, I have something in return that I want to send you. One thing I'm pretty sure you can use and the other is something I hope you can but want you to see anyhow because I made it.
Jun 18th, 2010 at 11:34:10 AM PDT by
Original
Oh cool! Well, maybe I'll send you a couple of stamps if I don't win anything of yours so you can send it to me, how would that be?
Jun 18th, 2010 at 12:00:43 PM PDT by
Original
You don't have to send any stamps! When my auctions end and I mail out Monday it'll be in there anyhow. My goodness, you've mailed enough to me over the last few months. It may be things I've won at your auctions, but you've added stuff here and there and I've won a couple items with low bids, so it is no problem for me to mail this.
Jun 18th, 2010 at 12:48:06 PM PDT by

I've just realized I haven't done a whole lot today, lol. I've had wonderful conversations though and that makes a great day, too :)And I actually DID straighten my living room up this week. It no longer looks like it's from an episode of Hoarders.
Jun 18th, 2010 at 6:51:06 PM PDT by

Well, whatever it is, I can't wait to get it! Just be sure to ship to my Maryland address. If I win something of yours I'll give it to you, but if you decide to ship me something even if I don't win, remind me to give you that address.

I just put a bunch more bids in on ebay from the same seller I got some of mine from. Those mixed lots had quite a few matched beads, so maybe I'll try it again. A lot of people seem to like the patterned beads, as opposed to the plain crystal one-color ones, so I'm working on getting more of those.
Jun 16th, 2010 at 5:23:34 PM PDT by
Original
I'm going to have to really limit my spending right now or I'd get a couple more lots myself. I'm going to be gone the first part of August and need to be ready for that.

When I get back from that then I'm going to really buckle down and concentrate on organizing. I'm going to see exactly what I can list each week and keep it in my budget for free shipping and still list some nice things. I want to start saving credits towards something nice.

I've got quite a few things here I want to list in the near future, too. The extra glass animals, 2 more dreamcatchers/mandalas, a 200 piece charm lot, I want to do another tiered Tupperware listing with different items, necklace/bracelet clasps (magnetic barrel and toggle), some more of these silver cored charm bracelet beads, and more.

Did you see the earrings I made from them? They are kinda cool. Are you using yours on a Pandora bracelet or for other kinds of jewelry?
Jun 15th, 2010 at 1:50:25 PM PDT by

Yes, I saw your earrings yesterday, LOL. I'd bought some of these because I had this idea to get some matched sets and well, make earrings, lololol. You've seen a few of my other earrings and know I enjoy making earrings :)

I really had to laugh because I'm looking at a few of your matched beads, lol. I have the neatest earring findings. They're snake chain :)

AND you'll be happy to know, I found the whales!! In a place I hadn't looked (obviously). So I have the whales, the fish and the turtles I'm not going to keep all in one location. I'll have to wait just a bit before I list them, but at least I know where they are, lol.

I just got the idea for those Pandora earrings the other day and made some, after I had sold a lot of those nice matched sets! Oh well ... I feel it's kind of a crapshoot because usually earrings just don't get that much action on Listia, so I did this as a test. I'll post more if they get 300 credits or more, but otherwise I'll give away the others I made as gifts. I think they are pretty sweet ..

A snake chain finding for earrings??? What do you mean, like a little short snake chain with loops on the end. I'm curious!
Jun 15th, 2010 at 7:07:00 PM PDT by
Original
Exactly! They have a loop to put a French wire after you've put your bead/s on. 40mm, so a really ideal length, too.

Wow, if you have a bunch of them you might want to list a few of them in pairs. I've got enough Pandora beads to keep listing them for the next few weeks, so you may want to list them while they seem so hot. I also told BlingSupreme that I was getting a lot of action, in case she has more bracelets to list. Not sure what she will do, but I could use a few more bracelets since I'm planning to make gifts of them.
Jun 16th, 2010 at 4:39:16 AM PDT by

I've got quite a few that aren't matched, but they're still pretty.

Wow, if you have a bunch of them you might want to list a few in pairs, while the Pandora beads seem so hot. I also alerted Linda BlingSupreme that I would be listing the Pandoras for the next few weeks, in case she has more bracelets to list.

I know, it's frustrating because I sold a bunch of nicely matched beads, but now I kinda wish I'd kept them for the earrings. But I still need to see how the earrings do before I list more.

Jun 15th, 2010 at 6:12:34 AM PDT by

Thank you. I had bought some wanting to find matching pairs, lol. I had never seen them, they really are a pretty bead. Once you see them you can possibly see other potential.
Jun 15th, 2010 at 1:00:25 PM PDT by
Original
Yup, I get it. I think you'll get more credits and spend less on shipping if you offer larger lots, instead of one little thing all by itself. What I do to get organized is as I pull things out to list, I take the photos, put them in a little baggie and put it with all the other items to sell. If you do a little bit of that before you leave, you'd had a bunch of stuff ready to go when you get back.
Jun 16th, 2010 at 7:09:01 PM PDT by

I was working on some of that today: putting things together in sections. I'll start on pictures later this week. I want to get one of those light bulbs you mentioned, that Reveal.
