so is it like a quilting fabric weight? or heavier like pants fabric?

you could use for either, It's a heavier fabric kind of like quilt backing it is a heavier cotton but it would make great pants too.

very nice weight not to heavy and not to light. I would make just about anything with it. I have even covered a couple of bar stools with it for out in the garage.
