Description

The listing, One Baby Elephant Ear Live Plant! has ended.

This listing is for one baby elephant ear. These are the most common variety. Green broad leaf atop a sturdy stem. Grows fast! Leaves on some my one- year-old plants are already about 14 inches across, and they are about 2 feet tall. My 3- year -old elephant ears have leaves over 18 inches across, and they are almost 3 feet tall. Just to give you an idea of how big they can get. I have sold plants on eBay for many years, and have experience on shipping safely. There is a shipping fee of $3 to help offset my cost of mailing. I love combining shipping on plants & seeds, so check out my other listings!

Second picture taken today of the same plant, one week later! They grow FAST!

Does the plant we would get have only one leaf like the one in the photo?

Yes. Baby plants usually have just one leaf... Until they get established roots. Then they will produce more leaves. They generally make one leaf per "stalk". It takes a few weeks for them to get to the point where they make new stalks. The babies I set out last year now have several stalks on them now(most have 4-5 leaves, some have as many as 7). The longer they stay put, the more leaves they will have.

I have grown them indoors. They need to be put in a pot that has good drainage. I had large drain holes in mine, and a drip tray( just the clear plastic plant kind) under it for when I over watered. You'll need to keep the soil checked and water fairly often to keep the soil moist. Keep in mind they can get up to four feet tall.
