1863, United States Internal Revenue #R8 stamp with a very sharp pen cancel and crisp bright color, a very nice example of this civil war era stamp. (The stamp in photo is the exact stamp to be recieved by winning bidder)

hi do you have a coa stating that this is a 1863 stamps annbody could of wrote july 11 1863 on the stamp plus writing on the stamp makes the value go down a lot

(vince21) I can assure you that this is not just a random fluke of somene trying to forge a hand cancel on this stamp, if you pay close attention to the style of writing it is very consistant with its time period , furthermore if you were to actualy bid and win you would be more than welcome to purchase a pse cert for it and if it were to come back as a fake i would be willing to cover the cost for the lack of stating it in my description, but if it is authentic well then you now would have a stamp with a pse cert that is stating the same thing as myself and for that you would be responsible for the cost if you are still in doubt about the authenticity of this stamp then i do not know what else to tell you.
