The listing, Many Silver Nickels and Dimes has ended.
Winner receives half of these coins. I have 2 auctions and will divide the coins between both winners. This is silver war nickels and silver dimes. All dates are pre1965. Nickels are dated 1942-1944. No 45's, sorry. I will be out of town for a few days. I will be back before the auction ends, but will attempt to answer any questions you have from my phone.
My best guess is 50+/- coins in each auction. I never counted them, only separated them 1 by 1 and put them in separate boxes. If I remember, I'll count them when I get back home. I do know for sure that they each box has the same amount of dimes and nickels as the other. There are more nickels than dimes.
1942-45 Nickels are the only nickels that have silver in them. During WWII, the military needed copper for bullets. Nickels had/have copper and nickel in them. They stopped putting copper in the nickels and began using silver instead. This is also they reason they made the 1943 Steel penny. Feel free to ask me any questions about coins. If I don't know the answer, I'm sure I know someone who does. You can email me at grafficmind@gmail.com
According to www.coinflation.com, the war nickels are only worth $1.60 each. The question I have "how many silver dimes will be included?" They are worth about $2.06 each.
