I use the type for cording that you clamp close. I will post a pic to show you.

Darn. It won't let me add a picture. They look like U shaped piece about 3/8" long and they have a circular tab for the jump ring or clasp. You clamp them closed around the cord or in this case, the mesh. I hope this helps.
