The listing, LOW GIN~Only 3 Days~Republic of Vietnam Service Medal!! has ended.
I have up for auction a medal my husband and I found in an old truck we bought to restore. It is a true and authentic Republic of Vietnam Service Medal~Est. Jul.8,1965 as amended~First Awarded Nov.15,1961~Last Awarded Apr.30,1975.~*~DESCRIPTION:On a bronze medal, 1-1/4 inches in diameter, an oriental dragon behind a grove of bamboo trees above the inscription "Republic of Vietnam Service" On the reverse:a crossbow surmounted a by a torch above the arched inscription "Unites States of America" The Ribbon we DID NOT find with the medal but the description is: 1-3/8 inches wide and consists of the following stripes: three narrow (1/16 inch) strips of red with wider (5/32 inch) stripes of yellow in the center, flanked by even wider (5/16 inch) stripes of yellow on each side and narrow 1/8-inch stripes of primitive green on the ends. The yellow with red stripes was suggested by the flag of the Republic of Vietnam. The green alludes to the jungle.~*~I will include this helpful link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_Service_Medal~*~ I tried to find the original owner but no luck.I would like for this medal to find a good home and I know there are a few good servicemen vets still around who may have lost theirs over the years or would make a great Father's Day gift for one who served in Vietnam or just to collect!! Thanks for taking a peek at my auction!! ;o)
