Description

The listing, Matted & Framed Cross Stitch Dalmation/Firefighter Art has ended.

This is a very well done counted cross stitch of a dalmation on duty, with the firefighter's turnout gear hanging on the wall behind him. It was made for me because I am a disabled professional firefighter, hurt in the line of duty, and for a long time, I collected small fire trucks & such. Now those are all packed as I don't have room to put them out.

The 2 pictures I have listed on Listia right now were done by an experienced and picky cross-stitcher, then professionally stretched, matted and framed. It took well over a hundred hours to complete and over $125 to stretch, matte and frame each one. There's no problem with this one or the other, except that the one who did the work, my ex-wife, put her first name & the year in the lower right corner & my current wife isn't fond of having it on the walls on our home. I understand that. So the work has sat, protected, for several years, and I'd like to see it go to a firehouse, firefighter, or collector of firefighting "stuff".

I am afraid I can't ship for free, but if you get both of the pieces, I'll ship them together and do all I can to bring the cost down while still protecting the work.

Also, if you live near Jefferson City, Missouri, or Starkville, Mississippi, or somewhere along that route, I might be able to get it to you for free, but I need you to contact me before you bid and tell me where you are so we can make sure I can get the piece or pieces to you.

Thanks for your interest and to those who look who are the spouses of firefighters, thanks for hanging with us. And to the firefighters, thanks, and stay safe.

Alright, finally, some prices for you! To ship both to you by USPS Priority Mail would run about $20 (it shows up as $21.25, I'll go with 20). If I misjudged and it's more, I'll pay it. If I misjudged and the cost of shipping plus any packaging materials I have to purchase, such as bubble wrap is less, I'll refund the difference. Another option would be to drop it down to Parcel Post, which ships for just $13, saving you $7 but adding 5 days to your anticipated delivery date.

If you'll shoot me a zip code, I will try to get that for you in the morning. I think I can get them both in the larger flat rate box, but I'll have to measure and weigh, and I'm tied up til after my son's ball game. Thanks for your interest, and with a zip code, I'll get the info for you later tonight or tomorrow if I can't get it tonight!

Hi, and thanks for your interest. I priced both of the pieces together, and even then I am estimating a bit as I will have to create some packaging to protect the frames and glasses. You won't pay any more than I list, and if the shipping cost (including any materials I have to purchase, such as bubble wrap) is less than I charged, I will actually refund some of the money. I ALWAYS prefer PayPal, in fact, but I'll work with anything, but not cash for this large an amount. It's just too much to stick in the mail. Okay, if you got both pieces together, you're looking at about 8.5 lbs and 19" wide x 22" tall x 4" deep. To ship both by USPS Priority Mail, you'd be looking at $14.00. To ship just the dalmation, which is the larger of the 2 and by far the heavier, you're looking at $11.00. To go UPS ground would be higher, and slower. Hope this helps you out. Sorry the cost is high, but shipping the frames with glass is just not going to be like shipping a movie or keychain. Yet it is still a great deal for high bidder!!!

I do accept PayPal, and I will answer the questions about shipping tomorrow. I am sorry for the delays - I've been so busy I just haven't had time to weigh and measure and check rates. I know the art itself is at least 8x10, and the frames make it something like 14x17, with glass, and it will all have to be packaged well, so I want to make sure I get accurate measurements and weights. Tomorrow will be my first break, so I'll either get the rates tomorrow, or later tonight and, again, I'm sorry for the delay. It's not intentional! --Dan M.

Thanks - though I can't take any credit. I just picked out the pattern and my ex-wife did the work. It did look good when I had my own office all decorated with firefighting knick-knacks.
