Description
The listing, 1 GIGabyte DDR2 SO DIMM (Laptop Memory) has ended.
1 Gig Hynix (made in Korea) memory, pulled from a dual chip Satellite laptop. Upgrading from two to 3 gigs helped run Windows Vista somewhat better, the experience though was marred by slow downloads and stop and go videos. Still 1 Gigmemory may help a cyber surfer somewhere, the shipping is free...
Questions & Comments
Well, I have a Dell Latitude C840 laptop. What are the specs on this chip?
thanx for asking jay.....the best place to get an accurate, fair answer to your question is dell dupport.....first thing they'll ask is what model? I'm guessing you have a dell latitude, running on ddr 266 mem.....in which case the ddr2 chip might fit in the mem slot, but even if it worked it would not improve performance beyond 266 mhz....the best place to get specs for the pc2 mem (ddr2) would be at hynixdotcom.....
1 gig of ddr2 mem may help if a laptop with ddr2 mem overheats, like as in being left in a car parked in the sun, or a notebook is dropped or hot liquids are spilled on it...if a mem module wears out or burns up on you, usually you could tell by looking at it.(that's when having an extra gig module comes in handy)...replacing a memory chip could make a difference, but there's no guarantee of it.....if you've never replaced a memory chip in a laptop, this item is probably not for you......and, once again, pc manufacturers for the most part would like you to buy a new machine which is $$ a triple figures expenditure as opposed to a handful of credits at listia
