Vintage Jerusalem / Crusader's / Crusade Aluminum Medal / Medallion / Pendant with Red Anodized Crosses

This belonged to my parents and it has been stored in my family home for the past 50 - 60 years, so it is least that old but it could be older since I do not know when it was first acquired.

It is good condition.

It is approx. 7/8" x 1"

The five fold cross is said to traditionally symbolize the five wounds of Christ, though it is has also been said to represent Jesus and the four evangelist Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.

The style of the cross is know as the Jerusalem cross (it has been for centuries a symbol of the holy city of Jerusalem) or the Crusader's cross (worn by defenders of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre).

The addition of the images of Jesus and Mary, with the alpha-omega and chi-rho symbols of Jesus, might make this a souvenir from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

One side has a relief image of Jesus with The Sacred Heart in the center. IHS is on the top center. The symbol for Alpha is on the left side and the symbol of Omega is on the right side. On the bottom center is the symbol P with a X over it. There is a Red Anodized Cross in each corner.

The other side has a relief image of Mary in the center. There is a Star in the top center. CRU is on the left side and SADE is on the right side. On the bottom center is a Fleur-de-lis. There is Red Anodized Cross in each corner.
