The listing, HP/Compaq Windows-XP Pro (SP2) Recovery CD (32-bit) has ended.

This Recovery CD can be used to reinstall a FULL version of Microsoft Windows-XP Professional onto any HP/Compaq Desktop, Notebook or even a Workstation that originally came with Windows-XP installed. You can quickly tell by looking for the COA (CERTIFICATE OF
AUTHENTICITY) on the unit. This CD does not require you to enter a Product Key as it is an OEM version designed for HP/Compaq systems. NOTE: This CD will NOT work on other brands of computers without a valid Product Key.

If you can not read the CD in the picture it says, "Operating System CD Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Service Pack 2, Contains software already installed, For software re-installation and repair only. English.

I have used these CDs in the Field as an HP Certified Repair Tech for years, I have used them on the following systems, just as an example, without any issues and will work with hundreds more, you will still need to download the specific "drivers" for your system from www.hp.com:

do you need a key code or will the disc auto start

If you use this on an HP or Compaq computer built in the last 7-10 years just pop it in the DC/DVD drive, reboot the computer and choose to boot from the CD, it will start the Install without requiring a key as it's coded into the CD to install without a key code on HP and Compaq computers ONLY. All other computer types would need a key code.

Yes as it was built around 2008 and that falls within the use dates of this CD. Hope that helps. You'll also want to go here to get all of the drivers from HP:
