The way it was explained to me, the Darkhawk series began publication in '91. In '92 Marvel produced cards in association to current and earlier titles. Comic dealers, as an incentive, were encouraged to enclose these with unsold / back issues. These then were to correspond with the accompanying issues. For example, issue #2 would receive Spiderman and Green Goblin cards to go in tandem with the storyline of the issue. Hope this helps clarify the association of the cards with these 1st 2 issues.

I guess the dealer I used to buy comics from , never bothered, to notify any of his members of this, which is sad, because i was a member there for many , many , years, one would think he would have taken care of loyal, longtime members in good standing

I would think it would have been something that was used to help move existing product still in the store in lieu of trying to track down past purchases. They were also cards I am sure Marvel was trying just to introduce to the buying public....So I wouldn't feel too bad. : )
