They are the best! I think you have to have extra talent to use those Boye hooks, 'cuz I always get my yarn caught on them and get really frustrated!

LOL - it's not that the yarn sticks, I just prefer the deeper neck and smaller head on the Bates versions - to me the Boyle is snub-nosed and too round-if using more than one strand you need a bigger hook to handle the extra bulk where the Bates does just fine. Anyway, AWESOME auction!!
