Description

The listing, GIANT ALOE PLANTS has ended.

Giant Aloe babies. This auction is for 3 plants taken from my prolific giant aloe!

I had only 1 aloe plant & did not know they bloomed until a few years ago, the spectacular stalk resembling the blooms pictured appeared. The bloom is amazing & very long lasting. The stem that the blooms appear on can be tall. I have had them reach 4 feet tall with blooms spanning 2 feet. The color pictured is the only color mine have ever displayed.

But, I started out with one tiny plant as shown in the pics. I have divided one huge pot of aloe recently, and have 20 or more babies in pots. I still have another huge family to divide and need to find homes for the babies.

The auction is for the 3 babies shown in the last pic. The leaves in the container are from the overhead plant that shades the aloe. I will ship it as bare root unless I can find some small pots to place them in. These are almost self maintenance. In the winter, I move them into my sun room and water about once a month. During warm weather, I move them into a semi-shaded area (under trees or other spots) that offer some protection until the plants acclimate to full sun.

Once they get used to full sun, they are fine in the sun. But the tender babies should be kept in indirect sunlight until they toughen up!..

The parent plant can produce hundreds of babies that even grow out the drain holes if you don't divide them.

To divide them, i roll the huge parent plant into the yard and just dump the plant & dirt ball onto the ground. Then I pull the babies from the root ball & replant them into their own pots.

I have included pics of the parent plant, a pic of the plant that still needs to be divided, a pic of the bloom that is on a 4-ft. stalk and a pic of the 3 babies.

These plants are succulents that can survive out of soil and water for several days & are easy to ship. Let me know if interested in a mother plant.

If you send you zipcode, I will see what shipping would be for a bareroot mommy. However, some of the babies are fairly big!

I will post a mother plant; if they go high enough, I can ship free; however, if not, I would need the bidder to pay actual shipping. Send your zip code, & I will see what shipping would be for a full size plant. It may not be too bad because these can ship bareroot for several days without being harmed. I have forgotten to repot some babies for days, & they have lived.

The most it would be would be the flat rate box of $5.35 to zip 14810.
