Up for bid is a replica (reproduction) of a 1776 Continental Currency. I think it might have been purchased with the purchaser thinking it might be the real thing. So I don't know how much he paid, but I'm 100% certain it is a copy.It was hard to get a good scan (looks like pewter with a black wash), but I hope you can see enough to know what you are bidding on. I've also scanned most of an article on this coin.
So it's for fun to have this, and not for any real big value. Still, an interesting item and a sure "ice breaker" at any coin show! Out of curiosity, I checked recent auctions of this replica coin, and they started at $10.
