The only thing bad is small crack on screen top left no big deal touch screen still works and no charger it takes a micro usb. The phone works like new it's by at&t.

People can buy a sim card at any AT&T store. My daughter has this phone you must have a sim but they are cheap.
How old is the phone?
How long was it used?
Does it have a clean ESN?
Any water damage?
Can you post a picture with the phone on?

Where did you get the phone? I've bought one with a bad ESN (stolen) phone before and when I called ATT they told me. I sent the phone back to the owner. Can you call and find out.

at&t does have prepay phones not sure how it works but i think all you need to do is buy the sim card and make sure it's prepay.
And I think that you could use it for other cell phone suppliers
