I don't actually remember. I took this picture the first time I made this pound cake, which was several years ago. I'll have to make it again just to get a better picture :-)

This cake really should be cooked in a tube pan - but I didn't have one that first time so I used a loaf pan. But that doesn't explain the top... mystery, mystery.
