The listing, Tumbled Polished Nevada Rocks Wire Wrap Jewelry has ended.
I forgot to put a quarter in the pic so you can judge the size! So the obsidian which is the black rocks are about the size of a nickle = 5 cents. Obsidian is transparent but laying as it is you can't tell. I tumble/polish rocks I find in the hills of Nevada. It takes 5 weeks to get them to this stage. Uses are wire wrap jewelry, decorative rock for fish bowl, planters....ect. Last pic is one of my rocks with a drilled hole. It is NOT included in this listing, just an idea of "what" can be done with these rocks. I have a dremmel and it does take some time/effort to drill a hole.
Questions & Comments
Well, Hey there, fellow Rockhound/tumbler. :). Great finds,girl...Very pretty! I'll be watching! What kind of bit do u use to drill a hole with your dremel? And how hard on the mohs scale can the dremel work for?
I use diamond bits. Bought a small case of several. I start with 1 that has a very sharp point to get going, then go to another that isn't so sharp, finish w/one that just makes the hole nice. I drill all rocks, quartz and chert are the hardest to drill. I do have to buy new bits as the drilling wears them down.
