I don't know how that could be an extra large. The person wearing them is thin, I am a medium and the measurements are perfect for me but I need one more measurement. their not jeans should of mentioned that sorry their really thick cotton material and spandex they do stretch which for a thicker person t than the person in the picture they will bring out their figure very well the right above button to the bottom of the crotch measures a 9
