Description

The listing, 15 - Mimosa tree seeds (silk tree) has ended.

The mimosa tree is a fast-grower and can grow to a height of 15 to 40 feet, and may spread as much as 25 to 35 feet. It has oblong green leaves that are less than 2 inches long. This tree produces fragrant puffy pink flowers from late April to early July. The life expectancy of the silk tree is 10 to 20 years.
Water mimosa trees with an inch of water once a week. If needed, use a drip, soaker or bubbler hose to make sure the water soaks deep into the roots thoroughly. While this tree has a very high tolerance to drought , it has a greener color and more lush appearance when given an adequate amount of water.
Mimosa trees are highly invasive in certain areas of the United States, so it's best to prune them back often. They need pruning after any spring growth begins. Prune the discolored, damaged or diseased branches or leaves.
The mimosa tree originally is from Asia. It was first introduced into the United States in 1745 and during the 18th century it was grown primarily as an ornamental plant.
This tree has delicate fern-like foliage, produces fluffy & silky pink blooms in mid-spring to early summer. They can be planted in large pots and displayed as an ornamental or terrace plant.
Hummingbirds and butterflies are attracted to mimosa trees, and many gardeners enjoy the presence of these two species to their garden.
