Description

The listing, Blue Butterfly Bush seeds from my yard x 12 has ended.

Also known as Buddleia davidii
The butterfly bush thrices in full sun and well drained soil. It prefers zones 5 - 9 where winter temps do not fall below -20 degrees.
As its name suggests, butterfly bush is a butterfly favorite. I have blue, pink and rainbow butterfly bushes and butterflies are in my yard a lot. Usually, they grow between 4 and 5 ft. Mine are taller than my husband and he stands 6ft tall.
You can grow butterfly bushes by sowing their seeds in pots. Later, you can transfer the bushes to your outdoor garden in spring.
These are freshly dried seeds, so you will need to stratify them. Fill a zip lock baggie with damp peat moss and drop the seeds in. Seal it, give it a quick shake and place it in your refrigerator for 4 weeks.
Fill 4" pots with potting soil, drop one seed into each pot, pushing the seed down 1". Mist soil lightly. Place pot in area that receives bright, indirect sunlight while maintaining a temp of 75 degrees. Keep soil moist. Germination usually takes 20 - 30 days. Transplant outdoors in spring. Space 4 - 6ft apart.

They are fairly fast growers also. Go to walmart and get some rubber snakes from the toy dept. for only $1 each and put them all over where you are having problems with rabbits, squirrels, birds, or any small rodent. It really works. They are small enough that they are afraid that they will be ate. It works for me. Try it.
