While this little webcam is wonderful for a laptop, it can also be used with a desktop. It is plug and play. Lights up so even if your in a dark area you can be seen. comes with a built in mic.

I am sorry but I do not know the brand, I have had it and used it for several months so the original package is long gone. It uses USB port and a mic plug in. I have used it with Yahoo IM and Skype.

I am going to attempt with my older camera to get some clear pictures uploaded in the next 2 days. I am ill right now, but may try today. Because I had problems getting a clear picture with my camera I added a "stock" image of the camera.

Also I do not remember it coming with software but when plugged in my Window's Vista located the needed software, which is why I referred to it as plug and play.
