The listing, 1935 E Silver Certificate Blue Seal ERROR Note Dollar Bill NO MOTTO!! Fr 1614 has ended.
This is a circulated example of a Friedberg Number 1614 Series 1935E One Dollar Silver Certificate, One of my favorites because this series is prior to the BEP adding "in god we trust" to paper currency. The first consistent notes to have the motto printed was series 1957 followed by 1935G, 1957A, 1935H and 1957B in that order. Only less then half of the 1935G notes had the motto printed, this was because the BEP used a new dry ink system to print the 1957 series and due to issues and demands they could not fill all the orders and had to use the old machines to print 1935G's to meet demands. This was one of the very few times that the BEP released an older series after the newer series was already in circulation.
This particular note is a mild error note because the 3rd printing shift was off. If you look at the serial number on the right it is almost touching the text. the 3rd printing of a note is the serial number and seal, you can see in this example that it is a lot higher then should be.
A breakdown of this series by date of production is not presently available. According to BEP records, notes of this series were delivered to the Treasury between January 1953 and December 1957.
a total of 5,334,056,000 notes were printed, 52 Blocks in 52 groups with a total of 19,381 print runs. Although this note catalogs at $3 it will bring additional premium due to the 3rd run shift error.
Although it may seam i have a lot of information here it is only a fraction of the story. I am sure others may add on. But feel free to ask any questions, i am always happy to talk about currency. :)
