Does it use a memory card and how many megapixel is it?

No, It does not have a memory card. It's not a digital camera. It uses Hi 8 tapes. It does have a UAB cable though that you can stream streight to your tv or computer.

What type of tape does it use? Does it use a rechargeable battery or batteries? If rechargeable does it still hold a charge and for how long? How old is it? Any cosmetic damage?

It uses Hi8 Tapes and it has a rechargable battery. The battery is a 15 hour battery and it still holds a pretty good charge. I never really kept track of how long the battery actually lasted, but I know it seemed like a long time.
