The package on both items have never been opened and both say batteries are included.

Yes I have and they are real loud and work well. These I had a friend give them to me and I have just finished alarming my whole home so I didn't need them.

I think they would be and give you a peace of mind. I always worried earlier when my children were young about the windows in their rooms. They had nothing like this that I could find back then. Good luck on the bidding.
