Understandable you can get good deals on here and I am new and getting used to the point system, but my wife got this and it originally sold for around $20 and I am going by Listia's point to monetone value of 1500 = $5 and it will cost me $5+ to ship and if I got less than $5 for it I would rather keep it and give it to someone as a present for christmas. I am new but people sure like to comment on my auction starting prices even though all my listings sold so far well over the asking price :( I don't mean to be a disappointing seller, most my customers are happy!

I think there may be some miscommunications here, Adam. The "opening bid" credit number a lister sets is not meant to be the minimum that the lister is willing take for the item, but rather a starting point from which the community members start bidding. Listia is not E-bay, wheres the lister can set a "reserve". The auction item does not return to the lister if the bid does not meet the lister expectations, only if the winner does not fulfill his/her end of the bargain.. However, setting a reserve to be met seems to be your intent here. At least, tha's what I have garnered from your reply to matticus2345. The concept of Listia has always been to get rid of things you don't need, in order to get things you want. It is much more like a bartering community than a profit making enterprise. Sometimes people make a good trade (item for credits or credits for an item) and sometimes it is lopsided. What most people find intriguing is the interaction and THAT'S what makes the community work. Cooperation, compromise and just a little bit of marketing savvy, with a smidgen of social psychology. Welcome to the community, Sir. I wish you all the best in all your transactions, whether you are lister or bidder.
