If it has a bad ESN, sprint will refuse to activate it.
A clear esn just means you ended the contract good and there was no outstanding bill and you know for sure it has never been reported lost or stolen. Sprint will put what I guess is like a hold on it if one of these things happens. Most phones do have a clear ESN but I'm just making sure.

You didn't answer my question. Was the contract ended good? No outstanding balance or anything? They wont activate the phone if it wasn't ended good. My bf has a bunch of credits and might bid for me but I need to know if I can even use it.

on top of phone there is a slot for a SD card (not Mirco SD) but you can get an adaptor to go from mirco SD to SD,
