This cobalt blue beauty is one of the showiest penstemons. Vibrant 1” trumpet flowers on 3' tall spikes appear in late spring and last for weeks.

Native to the mountains of Utah, Idaho & Wyoming, this high elevation Penstemon thrives in full sun, dryish conditions, and well-drained soil. It's seriously cold-hardy, (zones 4-10), drought-tolerant, loves poor soil and comes back year after year with no attention. Excellent in rock gardens, cutting gardens, at the front of a mixed border or in a container.

Surface sow the seeds in autumn and they'll sprout on their own in springtime.
