this is from britain and is and says sterling silver. it also has the letters stamped e.u. on the side is a english letter e. never been cleaned very tarnished. now every one keeps saying im asking to much for silver so i wont put a price on this piece lets how honest you will be for a sterling silver coffee pot that weighs over a pound.

is sterling silver written out? stamped .925? british sterling is stamped by a standing lion. how is this piece actually marked?

are there any dents or other damage? I notice that it is missing the lid. was the lid a hinged one, or one that was a different piece?

no, i was thinking to get tarnex and bring back the silver look. i bought this coffee pot at a antique when silver was 5 a ounce. its really beautiful. why am i getting rid of my silver cause im into semi and prescious stones, and coins.

That is what is sad. This piece is old and has a history and most likely be melted for it's silver content and not appreciated for it's history. It's beautiful. I wish I had the credits to bid and restore it to it original beauty.
