I never said 14k solid gold, any watch that is solid gold, guaranteed would not b ever given away on listia,it would b able to b sold for $$$ for weight. Common sense would tell people it cant b solid gold cuz solid 14k gold is way too soft to b used like that, with mechanical working parts, would need to have more solid metal for structure or would bend outta shape.
People will see 14k and believe it to be 14k. which MEANS 14k, NOT 14kge or 14kgp. YOU are IMPLYING that it is solid gold when you call it 14k. so if its not , then please dont refer to it as 14k, that is MISLEADING no matter HOW you look at it. not trying to be rude, but not everybody understands that when you are saying 14k, you dont mean 14k, do you see how that is misleading, or falsely advertising. a jeweler couldnt get away with saying that, wouldnt you agree?
Funny thing,i listed as marked on watch itself.it is marked: Elgin 14k 1/20 gf on band, not watch case itself, the case watch & back snaps into is only marked 14k,pic of that on listing. The band, which is original,is marked: 14k 1/20 gf on band. This was made like such in the 1930's,so may b misleading by elgin itself. I believe case is solid 14k,& band is what is 14k 1/20gf.
trying to ouwit an on again off again timex; otherwise i'd be biddiing, the tmex was dead this weekend, ir likes wd-40 but not penetration; elgin is a good watch brand, specially if one knows what's wrong, good luck...
