I will be withdrawing this item from auction but first I want to tell the watchers and bidders why. A fellow Listian asked if it was stamped 925 on the inside of the cuff. I explained that after 1979, the Mexican Registry marks for silver were changed. The registration system initiated combined letters and numbers. The 1st number represents the location, the second letter is the first letter of the makers first or last name. The number represents the order in which the maker registered his or her mark. On the back of this bracelet which was purchased in Mexico after 1979, it in stamped" A I PACO". Since there is no number and to prevent any confusion, we will withdraw the item after the watchers and bidders have seen the explanation. It was sold to us as a silver bracelet.
i have seen many items mainly bracelets, with the alpaco stamp, i have been told by a jeweler this is not a high grade silver, that it would not be considered sterling silver, with that being said, it is a gourgous bracelet, and anyone who just loves the look of this bracelet would be lucky to win it! good luck to all!
I appreciate your imput. I have explained in an earlier reply that it might not be sterling, hopefully everyone is aware of that. It is to late to change the original listing,I was going to retract the item. However, a couple of people want it and know the situation.
i believe it is silver, just not sterling, it is a lower grade sterling with other metals, this is just what i have been told, but...it is a silver. hope that is helpful.
