Description

The listing, The first Google Android phone! T-Mobile G1 / HTC dream - WiFi, 3G, GPS, really cool! has ended.

This is the first Android phone - the T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream). Has great features like slide-out keyboard, Blackberry-style trackwheel, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.2 MP camera.

Still works like a champ! I have updated it to Android 2.2.1 and it has root access. CyanogenMod 6 / CM6 installed.

Phone has great battery life, is super durable, screen is in great condition with a few small scuffs, case is good with some wear from normal use. All features work. Also a great conversation starter... it looks different than all the other Android phones out there.

The only issue is that some points on the touchscreen don't respond as well as others. You might have to tap twice or change to landscape mode. Also, the moisture indicator on the battery is red, but the phone is NOT water-damaged.

This phone has a SIM card slot and a MicroSD card slot. It can only be used with T-Mobile service. I forgot to remove my SIM when I took the photos... the SIM card is NOT included... BUT...

If you want to unlock the phone to work with all other SIM cards (Straight Talk, Boost, Simple Mobile, AT&T, etc.), you can have it unlocked instantly online for as $10-15 many places (or free by completing offers).

Phone has Clean ESN / IMEI. From a smoke-free home. Includes wall charger. Fast FREE shipping in the USA!

I try to be as complete as possible with my auctions. If you have any questions, please ask below and I will do my best to answer!

Lol that message was for any potential bidders/the winner but nice touch on making it more convenient for the winner by unlocking it for them. To the bidders: by unlocking the phone for you, this seller not only saved you 3$, but enabled this phone for use with ANY gsm carrier in the WORLD. Would be great for traveling and phone is well worth the gin. Good luck guys!

Unlocking this phone would only cost 3$ via eBay. Go there and type in "g1 t-mobile unlock" and you should find several sellers on there selling an unlock code for this model phone for only .99 cents to 3 bucks. I've unlocked several gsm phones this way and it's always successful. Takes literally 30 seconds to do it yourself and certainly something a non-techie can do as they give clear easy instructions along with the code purchase. Hope this helps! Good luck with this awesome auction!

Well, why didn't I think of that?! Thank you so much; I have purchased an unlock code and this phone is now unlocked for any carrier. Bidders, please note you MIGHT have to take additional steps to get data with your provider.

can you switch it to verizon?

Hi, this phone will never work on Verizon or Sprint. It is tied to T-Mobile, and if you get it unlocked, it will operate on the GSM cellular band (AT&T, Cingular, Boost, Straight Talk, etc.) = any provider that uses SIM cards.

Does this phone work with the prepaid or do you have to have an account with them because i'm on t-mobile prepaid now
Aug 1st, 2012 at 9:28:21 PM PDT by
Original
Yes, this phone will definitely work with T-Mobile prepaid. Just swap in your SIM. Make sure you have a data plan since the phone (like all Android phones) does a lot over 3G.

There is a Youtube app on the phone which works fine, and you can connect to WiFi for better internet speed, or use your cell phone provider's 3G network.
