This is NEW in the box. It's a cool gadget that replaces a light switch and operates by noise, a door opening a spoken word, ect. It can be adjusted for senitivity. If you have an entrance way or hallway that only needs to be lite when your traveling through it, this is great. It can be adjusted to stay on for 7 sec. to 7 min. or as long as there is noise.
Say you have a dark hallway that needs a light. Instead of having the light on all the time this would turn it on as you entered and shut off by itself, saving you money, or a garage, entryway, closet, etc.
This isn't like a Clapper, nothing plugs into it, it replaces a light switch.
It could also help protect against prawlers or thieves if you set up a switch location in a critical spot. Imagine what they would do if the were sneeking by and all of a sudden a light comes on by them.
