I tried to reply to this message yesterday I guess it did not go through.
Both produce seeds. The Hollyhocks are easy to identify, and may reseed themselves, but collecting the seeds gives you more control over where they grow. As far as the cosmos I can teach you how to identify the seeds so you can collect them.

They both produce seeds... The Hollyhock seed are easy to recognize and I can teach you how to find and identify the cosmo seeds. Hollyhocks usually reseed on their own, but you can keep control of where they grow by collecting the seeds and planting yourself. I am originally from Indiana, so I am somewhat familiar with your growing season, although I do bellieve Michigan has a shorter growing season.
